  • CALL FOR POETRY SUBMISSIONS

    Poetic-License and Writers&Poets, have started putting together our next project that will sponsor another worthy charity. “The Vanished Children’s Alliance” is the charity we want to put an anthology of poetry together for, with all royalties going to that charity.

    The Vanished Children's Alliance is the oldest and second largest missing children's organization in the United States, and has been providing for the prevention, location, recovery and reunification of missing and abducted children since 1980.

    Here is where submissions come in; we are calling for poets to submit poetry for the book.

    Poets and poetry that are chosen, from these submissions, will not receive any money for their work, or other type of compensation, what you agree to do is donate your work, if it is picked, to “The Vanished Children’s Alliance Anthology.”

     Due to limited space in the book, not all poets and their poems who submit will be able to be picked, or be included in the Anthology. If you are picked, we will ask that you sign a form agreeing to the use of your work and that you agree that no funds, or compensation will come to you for the publishing of your poetry in the Anthology.

    How to submit;

    Accepting submissions from July 15 to September 1 of 2007.

    Place your full name, poetry (3 to 5 poems) and short bio in a plain text format,

     in the body of an email to bflorea@comcast.net , place in the subject line “Poetry Submission for The Vanished Children’s Alliance

    If your work is chosen, we will contact you, if it isn’t chosen, we won’t be able to reply to you, but we will place a list of poets and the titles of their poetry on my myspace website(Bonnie Florea) and Robin Stansbury’s myspace website, in our blog section, after all submissions have been chosen.

    Here is something I wrote a while back when my kids was little'n's.

    Mum's note to her dear ones

    To my children. This is for you.

    You need to know some things about the woman you call your mom.
    One day when I am old and gray,
     or here no longer .
    You will read this,
     and know of the woman you called mom.

    Yes I know you think you know me,
     because you have been with me all your life.
     But my sweet children,
     I have been more then a mother and a wife.

    Although these things have been important and nothing is greater to me in my life.
    Then being your mommy and someone’s wife.

    In time and over time,
    you may find,
    things about me,
     you would not
    believe I have done.
    All I ask is when you hear things,
     you will not shutter and shun me,
     as others have done.

     But know I am and was,
    but a woman,
     and your ever loving mum.

    My history could be called a tattered and torn one,
     to some.
    It could be a reckless one to others.
    An even yet to others it might be consider an adventures driven one.
    No matter what is viewed.
    An what it has become.
    Know in your heart of hearts I have loved you all,
     more then anything
    else I have,
     or have not done.

    I will admit to you,
    that I'm not proud of many things that has been,
     or
    hadn't been.

    I have sinned as many humans have,
     yet one thing is without a doubt.
     The most proud and honest of all things in my life.
     Which is that,
     if I had not been your mama.
     I sure would have never been anyone.

    So as you learn about your mom and your friend.
     In the days to come.
    Do not judge me to harshly,
     or disown me for what was.
    Just remember,
     your mother loves you,
     more then any,
     but maybe one.
    An that would be the creator of all that was here and yet to come.

  • I'm back from the south, but not for long. I plan to return before Falls dawn.
    Much work, yet to be done, before this snowbird flies back, to where it's warm.

    Latest news:

    "Journey of Dirt and Rose's" & " Poetic-Licenses" is still tied up with the publisher, so no new, news there, thus far.
    "Uncovering My Eyes" is still plugging on in sales, so no complaints there.

    I do plan to post some new poetry soon, I have found a tid-bit of time to write something here and there. However, because I love to support our troops, I am re-posting "For You, The Soldier!"
    I want them all to know, both American and allies that someone still cares.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    For You! The Soldier!
    For you, we fall.
    For you, we fight.
    For you, we ride to unknown happenings in the dead of night.
    For you, we work.
    For you, we sacrifice.
    For you, we stand and become the frontline.
    For you, we rise.
    For you, we sweat.
    For you, we walk the line of no regret!
    For you, we care.
    For you, we suffer.
    For you, we are the roaring thunder.
    May God forgive.
    May God be with us.
    May God be proud.
    May God protect us.
    To you, the loved ones we left behind,
    the Country we honor and the people who make us, The Soldier!
About Me
  • I am a small town poet, living outside a small town in Southwestern Ohio and some times an Island in Florida. Besides poetry, I am into racing of all kinds, including horse's. If I had one wish, it would be that all the people that I love were happy and healthy!
